Dr. Douglas J. Molnar - Coach Molnar is currently the Head Cross Country and Track Coach at Austin Peay State University.
Coach Molnar has over 30 years of coaching and running experience. The West Virginia University graduate was a member of the
nation's third-ranked cross country team in the NCAA during his tenure where he was a two-time captain of the track team.
He started his coaching career at Kent State University. While at Kent, he coached six conference champions and two
relay teams that were ranked in the top 10 in the country by Track & Field News. His athletes earned nine Division
I All-American awards during his years with the Golden Flashes. Molnar furthered his career at the University of Tennessee
as the Volunteers won a Southeastern Conference Championship, two NCAA track titles, and a berth in the NCAA Cross Country
Championships. In 2002, Molnar moved south to the University of Texas Pan-American to build the Broncs'
distance program. It did not take long for the Broncs to make a splash as Molnar coached the Broncs first NCAA
All-American in cross country and track in his first season at the helm while the Lady Broncs had their highest NCAA Regional
finish in twenty years. Since Molnar took over at APSU, the Lady Govs have completely rewritten their record book establishing
new records in every distance from 3000m to the 10,000m.
